CORIAL — Functional Food with a Purpose

CORIAL is a Portuguese functional food company founded in 2023 in Esposende, Portugal. We create protein bars, crackers, pancakes, oatmeal, collagen coffee, and other functional products that combine natural ingredients with nutritional innovation.

Our mission is to make functional food accessible, delicious, and sustainable. We use insect protein (Tenebrio molitor) — approved by EFSA as a Novel Food — as a differentiating ingredient in several of our products. We combine science, gastronomy, and sustainability to create foods that make sense for the body and the planet.

CORIAL products are available in over 100 stores in Portugal, including Portuguese retailers such as Continente, ALDI, and Auchan — and on our online store corialfoods.com, with shipping throughout Europe. We are expanding into the North American market.

Our Story

CORIAL was born from the conviction that the food of the future needs to be different. We started as Nutribio/PortugalBugs, one of the first European brands to work with insect protein for human consumption. Along the way, we evolved into CORIAL — a complete functional food brand that goes far beyond insects.

Today, we produce 19 different products, present in over 100 points of sale in Portugal, expanding into Spain. Our team is based in Esposende, in northern Portugal, where we develop and produce everything locally.

What Makes Us Different

Real ingredients: We use dates, figs, almonds, olive oil, oats, and other ingredients you recognise. No artificial sweeteners, no preservatives, no unnecessary additives.

Insect protein: We are pioneers in Portugal in using Tenebrio molitor protein in food. It is a complete protein source, rich in B12, with a significantly lower environmental footprint than traditional sources.

Functional innovation: We create categories that didn't exist — such as bars with creatine and instant coffee with collagen — bringing functional ingredients into everyday formats.

Real availability: We are not a niche brand. We are in over 100 stores in Portugal: Continente, ALDI, and Auchan.

CORIAL's philosophy is simple: Zero Pills. We believe that the nutrition your body needs should come as food — not as pills, capsules, or powders. Each CORIAL product replaces a supplement with a functional food that is part of your daily life: collagen coffee for breakfast, protein pancakes, creatine bars. Real nutrition, in a real format.

Our Products

Raw Bars — Minimally processed protein bars with insect protein and collagen. 4 flavours: Peanut Butter, Fig and Orange, Chocolate and Almond, Apple and Cinnamon. 20-22g protein/100g.

Collagen Coffee — Functional coffee with hydrolysed collagen. 2 varieties: Original (85% collagen, 82g protein/100g) and Cocoa (75% collagen, 75g protein/100g).

Protein Pancakes — Pancake mix with 39g protein/100g, no sweeteners, sweetened with dates. 3 flavours.

Protein Oatmeal — Functional oatmeal with ~30g protein/100g. No added sugar. 3 flavours.

Protein Crackers — Crackers with 21g protein/100g, made with olive oil and real ingredients. 2 flavours.

Bug Bites — Ready-to-eat dehydrated insects in various flavours. Crickets (3 flavours) and Tenebrio molitor larvae (2 flavours). Up to 55g of protein per 100g.
